Motorcycle throttle body cleaning maintenance of several tips
First, we need to understand how a motorcycle throttle works.
The throttle is the throat of the motorcycle engine and is a controllable valve used to control the amount of clean air entering the engine after filtration. When the throttle turner is twisted it is directly related to the size of the throttle opening. Therefore, the performance of the engine’s idle speed and power boost is related to the cleanliness of the throttle.
Motorcycle engine is the throttle, which is a valve that controls the entry of air into the engine cylinder. The air enters the intake pipe and mixes with the fuel injected by the electric nozzle to form combustible gas, which enters the cylinder to produce combustion. The throttle assembly is connected to the air filter on the top and the engine intake branch pipe on the bottom. Therefore, it is the throat of the engine.
Why the throttle will become dirty and black to produce dirt
1, the air intake system air filter element filtration, the front of the filter element and direct contact with the air, the rear of the filter element is filtered clean air. 3, the summer engine working temperature is relatively high, the oil will produce oil vapor, at idle speed and low speed, oil vapor will carry the fuel gum, condensation on the throttle.

5, dirt in the mixed air and oil vapor mixed together, combustion blackened.
6, the intake air filter is not maintained for a long time, or caused by the use of substandard air filter element.
Second, the more diligent the throttle maintenance, the better?
Normally, the throttle of a motorcycle engine should be cleaned and maintained once every 30,000 to 60,000 kilometers.
However, the more often the throttle is cleaned and maintained, the better. If the throttle assembly is overly cleaned, the special coating of the inner cavity of the throttle will be damaged. If the cleaning does not pay attention to the details of maintenance, the coating will be damaged and cleaned off.
Third, what is the impact of long-term non-maintenance throttle
As the engine produces carbon and impurities, will affect the accuracy of the throttle and door opening. At the same time, there may be impurities containing the return of gas into the combustion chamber, affecting the normal operation of the engine, the most obvious symptoms are unstable idle speed, normal driving process will have a sudden return to the throttle feeling, power performance decreases, fuel consumption will also rise. Even, some times will cause starting difficulties and other problems, causing engine failure in serious cases.

It is best to clean and maintain the engine throttle according to the engine power feedback, if the vehicle idle speed is unstable, difficult to start, power down, then it is not too late to clean.
There are two ways to clean and maintain the throttle of a motorcycle, namely non-disassembly cleaning and disassembly cleaning.
1. The most important feature of disassembly-free cleaning is that it is simple and hassle-free, and the throttle valve cleaner is sprayed directly onto the cloth or directly onto the relevant part of the throttle valve to scrub it. The disadvantage is the general cleaning effect, it is suitable for not particularly dirty throttle, note that you can not spray to the throttle behind the pipe, so as not to cause secondary damage to the throttle.
2, disassemble the throttle caused by cleaning, the operation process is a bit more troublesome. It needs to remove the entire throttle assembly, and then use the special cleaning agent, comprehensive and thorough cleaning before recovery. Although the steps to clean and maintain the throttle assembly is more tedious. However, this cleaning and maintenance process is thorough and effective.
Vehicle normal use, generally every 15000 – 20000 km or so the vehicle needs to clean the throttle. If the vehicle using the regional environmental quality is very poor, the air is more dust particles, then it is recommended that about 2000-5000 km cleaning in advance. More back to once a year cleaning, the throttle has a traditional pull-wire type and electronic throttle two, the traditional engine throttle manipulation mechanism is through the pull cable (soft wire) or pull rod, one end connected to the gas pedal, the other end connected to the throttle linkage plate and work.
